Property for sale in Nepal
Nepal is a democratic republic of South Asia whose capital is Kathmandu. It borders to the north with China and to the south with India and is a landlocked state.
A place you would never expect to have a real estate boom is Nepal. However, new properties for sale in Nepal built last year have increased by over 300% over the previous year, and land prices have increased by 300%.
Nepal may not be the obvious next property hotspot, but the mountainous country between India and China is experiencing a small real estate boom, while wealthy Nepalese real estate investors seek a safe haven for their money.
Although the unrest may deter foreign investors interested in property for sale in Nepal, it is having the opposite effect in Kathmandu, as those living in unstable areas move to the capital and buy property for sale in Nepal and wealthy investors who want to put their money in the real estate market.
The land has become a precious commodity, mainly because of the decade-long civil war between the Maoists and the army while the people crowded the relative security of the capital.
The influx pushed the values of the earth into the city. The number of proposals for new skyscrapers and apartment complexes continues to grow.
There are currently more than 250 skyscrapers under construction in the capital, according to the ministry of planning. But many apartments in Kathmandu are empty because the owners cannot find interested tenants in buying property for sale in Nepal.
